Rural Organics has recently had confirmation of their trademark "Classic Outback Organics."
Janie believes that this trademark is very befitting to the product her growers supply, as her growers are class growers who supply a class product from Australia, which is synonymous of the outback.

"We welcome our newly stated role as growers which now describes us as "food and fibre producers."

Matthew Jackson - Rowena Station, Broken Hill, NSW

Matthew Jackson and his wife Sara, together with his parents Ian and Mary Jackson (of Tirlta Station) were the inuagural ORA growers. Through Rural Organics, they supply lambs into domestic and export markets.

Rural Organics processors are always keen to take delivery of the Jackson lambs as they supply quality lambs which they know the consumer will love. Rural Organics have exported the Jackson lambs into Taiwan and Bangkok where consumers have become familiar with their exotic saltbush flavour.

The Jacksons also market their certified organic wool annually at Melbourne wool stores.

John and Leanne Clothier own Polia Station which comprises 58,000 acres and is situated 50km west of Pooncarie on the Darling River. They are currently running Dorper and Dorper/Damara X sheep. They have been certified with NASAA for 10 years for organic cropping and, in 2004, certified the whole property for sheep, cattle and goats.

Rural Organics have been trading the Clothier lambs into niche butcher shops in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide, and feedback is that the consumers have been questioning the whereabouts of these tasty lambs. They are pleasantly surprised to discover that this quality product is produced so well so far away into the outback.

O'Sullivans Livestock Transport
O'Sullivans Livestock Transport have been freighting certified organic livestock for Rural Organics for the past ten years. They have the upmost respect for compliance to the Organic standards required to freight certified organic stock.

The trucks are always spotlessly clean on arrival - to quote one owner, "you could eat your dinner off them". Their communications and negotiations with base at Elmore and the designated driver are excellent as there is never any confusion. You can always be sure that you will be given a fair deal and that your stock will arrive at its destination in a healthy, stress-free condition.

The owner moving his cattle whilst they are in good condition, makes the whole job fruitful for all.

Tony & Pam Fitzpatrick -   Biodynamic Beef & Lambs Growers
Tony & Pam Fitzpatrick are biodynamic growers who, for up to 10 months of the year, supply Rural Organic's lamb and beef into Melbourne's elite processor and butcher shops.

Each year in Melbourne Cup week, the Fitzpatricks very kindly give Janie a lamb of which the loin and rib chops are religiously picked out. Janie then barbeques them to take to the Nursery enclosure at Flemington, where each year, she attends as a guest of Wal Merriman (chairman of AWI) and his wife Tina. The chops are so sought after that upon Janie's arrival, Wal has to play "BBQ bodyguard" and only hands them out as he sees fit.

Particularly noted for their taste and tenderness, the chops go like hot cakes, and seem to be every race-goer's "must-have". Designer dress? Check. Oversized hat? Check. Raceguide? Check. Succulent chop? Definitely!
Who wants tiny canapés when you can get your hands on a mouthwateringly tender biodynamic loin chop?

Glen & Michelle Heather - Sunningdale
Elite Demeter growers, Glen & Michelle Heather, supply lambs for most of the year for Rural Organics. The Heathers grow and finish their lambs in a stress-free environment and the resulting product is well sought after by Melbourne's leading biodynamic processors and butchers.

Glen & Michelle also process and market their own biodynamic safflower and flaxseed (linseed) oil products; the safflower grown themselves using biodynamic preparations to enhance their soils. At the root of their biodynamic mixed farm, the animals are fed from crops grown on the farm and in turn, those crops, along with food crops, are fertilized with composted manure from the same animals, imitating the self-sufficiency of nature. The result: healthier soils, crops with higher nutrient levels and healthy, chemical-free animals.

Organic Lambs for Baby Food - All foods are not created equal.
For some time now, Rural Organics has been supplying boned-out certified organic lambs into the baby food market.
For me, as the managing director of Rural Organics and a grandmother of 11, it is one of my most satisfying deals - to know that this magnificent chemical-free, lean meat is going towards growing our babies into healthy, happy little individuals.

In November, I was privileged to be able to send off my first consignment of organically certified Dohnes, from my own family property, Nelyambo Sydney Road.
